Chitwan National Park is located in the southern and central part of Terai. It was gazette as the first national park of Nepal in 1973.
Chitwan National Park is one of the finest national parks in Asia for wildlife adventure Jungle safari. It is home to 69 species of mammals including Bengal Tigers, Greater One-horned Rhino, Asian Elephants, Gaur Bison, Common Leopards, Sloth Bears, 4 species of deer, and 2 types of monkeys. It is also a safe refuge for more than 500 species of birds, endangered species of reptiles, and rare species of butterflies.
