Holiday Overview

Jyotirlinga is a devotional representation of Devadi Deva, Mahadev or Lord Shiva. Jyotirlinga literally means "The Radiant symbol of the Almighty", so it is the resplendent flame of the almighty solidified to make the worship of it simple. As per Puranas, there are a total of 64 Jyotirlingas, spread around the landscape of India and Nepal. However, 12 Jyotirlingas are presumed to be very auspicious and highly revered among them.

These Jyotirlingas are positioned in eight states of India, Somnath and Nageshwram are in Gujarat, Bhimashankar, Trimbakeshwar and Grishneshwar are in Maharashtra, Rameshworam is in Tamilnadu, Mallikarjun is in Andhra Pradesh, Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar are in Madhya Pradesh, Kedarnath is in Uttarakhand, Baidyanath is in Jharkhand and Kashi Vishwanath is in Uttar Pradesh. Visiting Jyotirlingas is an important pilgrimage that wades off all the sins and makes the soul sacrosanct and pure and believed that wishes are fulfilled. Thus, these most sacred sites of Lord Shiva are visited by his devotees in huge numbers every year.

Day-to-day Brief Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Mumbai and transfer to hotel

Visit Kailash’s representative will receive you at the airport and arrange immediate transfer to hotel. There will be a detailed briefing about the entire Yatra in the evening by the team leader. If time permits, visit Siddhi Vinayeka temple in Dadar.
Day 2
Drive from Mumbai –Nashik

Nashik
Early morning drive to Bhimashankara Jyotirlinga near Pune. After darshan, further drive to Nashik for overnight stay. It’s a long drive and first Jyotirlinga darshan of the trip.
Day 3
Drive from Nashik – Shirdi
Duration: 
5 Hours
Destination: 
Shirdi
Drive to Tryambakeshwar Jyotirlinga, after darshan, drive to Shirdi. In between we visit Panchawati and around. After checking in hotel and being freshened up, visit Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi.
Day 4
Drive from Shirdi –Aurangabad-Mumbai

O/n train
Drive to Aurangabad, on the way visit Shanishwar temple. After lunch, drive to Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga for Darshan and Puja then visit the famous Ellora cave and drive back to hotel to freshen up followed by dinner. Drive train station to catch up night 2T AC train from Aurangabad to Mumbai.
Day 5
Mumbai to Indore /Omkareshwar

Arrival in Mumbai and drive to hotel for breakfast and fresh up, then fly to Indore. Drive to Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga for darshan and Aarati.
Day 6
Drive from Omkareshwar to Ujjain

Ujjain
Early morning drive to Ujjain (132km) and check in to the hotel. After lunch, visit Mangal Dham, Sandeepani Ashram and darshan of Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga. Evening Mahalakshmi temple arati and lighting ceremony darshan. Back to hotel for overnight stay, attend next early morning Vashmarati at the Mahakaleshwar temple.
Day 7
Fly from Indore-Rajkot via Mumbai and drive to Somnath

Drive to Indore airport (70km) for connecting flight to Rajkot via Mumbai, then further drive (200km) to Prabhas Patan near Somnath temple, check in to the hotel.
Day 8
Drive from Somnath to Dwarka

Dwarka
After having Darshan of Somnath Jyotirlinga, drive (235km) to Dwarka and check in Hotel at Dwarka. Visit Dwarakdish temple and Sharada Matha.
Day 9
Visit Beyt Dwarka and Nageshwar Jyotirlinga

Early morning drive to Okha (40km) and take ferry to Beyt Dwarka for darshan; on the way also visit the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga. Return to Dwarka for overnight stay.
Day 10
Drive to Ahmadabad

Ahmadabad
Today is going to be a long vehicular journey (450km/8 hrs.) to Ahmadabad. Spend overnight in a hotel at Ahmadabad, Gujrat.
Day 11
Fly from Ahmadabad to Chennai and then drive to Tirupati

Destination: 
Tirupati
Fly to Chennai (2 hrs. 35 mins), and then drive (134km) to Tirupati and check in to hotel. Visit Padhmawati temple in the evening.
Day 12
Tirupati Balaji Temple Darshan then drive to Kanchipuram

Kanchipuram
Early morning, drive to Tirupati temple at Tirumala and after darshan return back to Tirupati. After lunch drive to Kanchipuram (111km), check in to the hotel. Late afternoon, visit Ekambareshwar Temple (A UNESCO World Heritage Site), Kailashnath and Kamakshi Temple.
Day 13
Drive to Madurai

After breakfast, drive (464km) to Madurai, where we will spend overnight in a hotel.
Day 14
A side trip to Rameshwaram Jyotirling and return to Madurai

Today we will get up very early for trip to Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga for its Darhan. The return journey is 340km. We also visit Dhanushkodi and Ramar Patham. We may go to Kanya Kumari and drive back to Madurai (optional)
Day 15
Fly from Madurai –Hyderabad
Duration:

Destination: 
Hyderabad
Morning, visit Meenaxi, Parumal and Murugan temples and then after having lunch, drive to Madurai airport to catch up the flight (2 hrs. 30 mins) to Hyderabad, check in to the hotel.
Day 16
Drive from Hyderabad to Shreesailam
Duration:

Destination: 
Sreeshailam
We will drive (268km/5 hrs.) to Shreesailam for a visit to Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga. After darshan, we will settle in the government Guesthouse. Evening attend arati and explore.
Day 17
Drive to Hyderabad and fly to Bhuwaneshwar

Destination: 
Bhubaneswar
Drive to Hyderabad airport to catch up the flight to Bhubaneswar (2 hrs. flight), overnight in a hotel.
Day 18
Jagannath Puri darshan and fly to Kolkata
Duration: 
6 Hours
Destination: 
Kolkata
Early morning, drive to Puri (Jagannatha temple); in-route visit Sakshigopala if time permits. After visiting Jagannath Temple and Shringeri Math, on the way back to Bhubaneshwar from Puri, visit Konarak Sun temple and Lingaraja temple at Bhuwaneshwar. Drive Bhubaneswar airport to catch up the flight to Kolkata, check in to the hotel.
Day 19
Day trip to Gangasagar
Duration:

Destination: 
Kolkata
Drive to Harwood costal (90km / 3 hours) and then cross the Hooghly River by ferry then drive to Gangasagar (30 km / 1 hour) to Kapil Muni Ashram. After darshan, puja and holy dip at Gangasagar, we will return back to Kolkata.
Day 20
Kolkata sightseeing and to Jasidih by train

Visit Kalighat and Ramakrishna Ashram in the morning. After lunch, train journey to Jasidih and then drive to Baidhyanath. Pay homage to Baidhyanath temple in the evening with Aarati.
Day 21
Drive by train to Varanasi

Varanasi
Darshan of Baidyanath Jyotirlinga in the morning and explore some of other major not-to-miss sites like holy Tapovan in the afternoon. Overnight train to Varanasi after dinner.
Day 22
Check into the hotel at Varanasi

Up on arrival at the train station, drive to hotel for check in. Later in the afternoon, have a Darshan of Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Vishalakshi and Annapurna Temples. Evening, attend the Ganga Aarati from the boat on the Ganga River and take a boat trip to have a night view of the holiest Ghats including Manikarnika.
Day 23
Fly to Mumbai and transfer to the hotel

Today will be leisure for shopping in the morning, and then drive to airport to fly Mumbai. Those who have flights to onward destinations may depart to the airport whereas others will spend overnight in a hotel at Mumbai.
Day 24
Trip concludes officially

Today is the officially trip concluding day. Visit Kailash will provide airport transfer for your onward journey.
