Holiday Overview

Kakani Day Hike

The Kakani Hike is a popular short, accessible day trip from Kathmandu, Nepal, featuring easy trails
through forests and villages with panoramic Himalayan views of the Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang,
and the Annapurna ranges. It's known for its pine and rhododendron forests, local culture, and excellent
birdwatching opportunities, making it a refreshing escape into nature for individuals, families, and
beginners.
The day hiking is just a single day hike, however, we recommend to the hiker to start the hike early in
the morning if possible. The best time to start the hike is around the 7:00 clock as it takes 2 hours to
reach the Kakani it might be 9 o clocks. As the day gets older the Himalayas also becomes cloudy so we
better to reach Kakani as early as possible. You can take plenty of time there in Kakani and we can start
hiking. The first part of hiking is quite tough as the trails climb the bit higher until the checkpoint. Then
the trail is easier and more enjoyable. We stop at Suryachaur for the packed lunch or whatever we
have. It is nice to spend a few moments here.
